  1. What is WEEE for?

    • The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) is a UK legislation addressing the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment
    • These regulations are in place to ensure that products are recycled using the best available recycling techniques to ensure human health and environmental protection
    • TEKshop247 and our customers can assist in recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment
    • TEKshop247 cannot recycle products unless it is returned to us, therefore our customers have a major role in helping us to recycle and adhere to the regulations
    • We will undertake responsibility as a Distributor to dispose of these goods in line with the above legislation

  3. How to recycle old products?

    • you can return waste electrical equipment to TEKshop247 when you are purchasing a new product from us under our distributer obligations*
    • When you are ready to dispose a WEEE product, do not put in your domestic waste bin, as it will not be recycled
    • Contact us to arrange a convenient time for you to deliver the old item back to us (at no cost to you)
    • Make sure to quote your teskshop247.com order number and describe the item to be recycled
    • Provide details of the Pick-up address and convenient times for collection
    • package any item for collection in advance in the best possible way to avoid damage during transit
    • TEKshop247 will deal with the waste product in a responsible manner, with due regards to the legislation

    *items to be recycled must be like for like (e.g. a printer for a printer, not a printer for a TV). RoHS Directive, also known as EU Directive 2002/95/EG, came into effect on July 1st, 2006.RoHS directive requires that electrical and electronic products put into the European market within EU states shall contain restrictive levels of the following substances:

    • Lead (Pb)
    • Cadmium (Cd)
    • Mercury (Hg)
    • Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+)
    • Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
    • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)

    New Electrical and Electronic goods are marked with a crossed out wheeled bin symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

  4. Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations

    Under the Waste Battery Regulations, the Tekshop247 are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our business premises (54 langham road blackburn bb18bh) in person (PLEASE DO NOT POST).

    Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at recyclenow.com-

    Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points. You may find stores in your local area more accessible.
